Basic Functional Capabilities for a Military Message Processing Service

Abstract

This report describes the functional capabilities necessary to support an advanced military message processing service. The functions described are meant to be incorporated as part of a larger, more comprehensive effort which addresses the total needs of the military message processing community. The functions discussed include those for message creation, coordination, transmission, delivery, reception, and archival. With respect to these functions, specific needs of a potential military user group are addressed.
