Hydraulic System Noise Study

Abstract

The purpose of the Oklahoma State University/U.S. Army Mobility Equipment Research and Development Center Program is to provide the military with tools for the scientific appraisal of fluid power systems. The activities of the fourth year of the noise program are a continuation of the efforts of the previous years and make full use of the preceding program. This is the second section of the complete annual report, which is divided into five self-contained sections. This report presents the results of a hydraulic noise study which experimentally examined the sound power of selected military components and investigated the effectiveness of noise control techniques for fluid power systems.
