On-Board Hydraulic System Monitor Study.

Abstract

The purpose of the Oklahoma State University/U.S. Army Mobility Equipment Research and Development Center Program is to provide the military with tools for the scientific appraisal of fluid power systems. The activities of the second year of the systems program are a continuation of the efforts of the first year and make full use of the preceding component specification development program. This is the fifth section of the complete annual report, which is divided into five self-contained sections. This section reports the activities concerned with a reliability assurance program for fluid power components -- primarily the use of on-board monitors for acquiring field data from operating systems. The major part of the report is devoted to the industrial liaison and hardware development required to instigate the program. A thorough analysis of the accuracy of the methods is presented together with supporting data from tests conducted with production hardware.
