Oxidation and Hot Corrosion of Ni-Cr- and Co-Cr Base Alloys Containing Rare Earth Oxide Dispersions.

Abstract

The program was undertaken to investigate the effects of alloying elements such as tungsten, tantalum and carbon on the oxidation and hot corrosion behavior of alumina-forming, dispersion-strengthened CoCrAl alloys, with the objective of developing concepts for alloys required to operate uncoated for long periods in gas turbine engines.
