Aircraft Design Reference Data for Expeditionary Airfields

Abstract

A description of expeditionary airfields and associated components is presented to familiarize aircraft designers with the expeditionary aircraft concept. An expeditionary airfield is a complete airfield that can be transported and assembled easily and have the capability to launch, recover and support certain high performance tactical jet aircraft. The report provides necessary design parameters to insure that future aircraft have expeditionary airfield operating capability.
