The K and H Ca II Line Emission Ratio in Prominences.

Abstract

The K and H CaII line emission ratios are studied in a number of prominences observed with the solar tower telescope of Oslo Solar Observatory from August 11, 1972, through June 18, 1974. Eighty-seven prominence spectra from 36 prominences are divided into three groups according to the degree of activity. No significant differences are detected in the averaged line ratios for the three groups. The average line emission ratio is 1.28.
