Multispectral Laser Line Transmittance through Simulated Natural Particulates. Part I. Instrumentation and Particulate Generation.

Abstract

A series of tests were conducted to determine the effect of high concentrations of natural particulates, as might be associated with military activities, on the transmission of UV, VIS, and IR laser energy through an aerosol test chamber. Part I describes the preparation of particulates to simulate natural conditions, the test chamber and characterization of the particulates suspended in the chamber. (Author)
