MINUTEMAN FSD Communications Study Report.
Abstract
The present MINUTEMAN Cable Termination Equipment (CTE) design, most of which was developed in the 1950's using discrete components, was a good design for that era but by present (1975) standards it is large, sluggish and cumbersome. Thus, the goal of this program was to investigate the present state-of-the-art and to develop a reliable system with much improved performance using modern but proven techniques. Other design objectives were to increase hardness and decrease cost. A programmable processor was chosen to maximize operational efficiency, flexibility and growth capability.
