DAIS Hot Bench/Sensor Simulation Interface Design.

Abstract

The Digital Avionics Information System (DAIS) Test Facility requires a real time simulation of avionic sensors that are to be replaceable by actual avionics hardware. These sensors will be simulated by software and converted into the appropriate signal formats for delivery to the DAIS Hot Bench which will be a mock-up of an avionics information system. This report describes the design and operation of the interface needed to link the simulation software with the Hot Bench hardware. Included in the report are descriptions of the hardware and software control of the interface and the type of signal processing required. (Author)
