The Unit Fund Concept and the All Volunteer Force (A Management Study).

Abstract

A management study is presented to determine the feasibility of strengthening the unit fund concept so as to have it more fully support the All Volunteer Force; it contains background and purposes of unit funds, provides key definitions and current unit fund support procedures used by the four Military Services; it presents management considerations for establishing unit funds, identifies authorized expenditures/prohibitions of each Service, discusses impact unit funds may have on the all volunteer force, and presents principal observations, conclusions and a recommendation.
