Development of Technology for Assessment of Electromagnetic Coupling - Enclosure Coupling.

Abstract

The trend to higher powered radiating equipment on the one hand, and to more sensitive solid state components on the other hand, is the motivation for the High Power Effects Program. The effort to determine adverse effects on electronic systems due to high power environments which are indigenous to Naval operations has three divisions: radio frequency environment, coupling from the environment to components, and the effects of radio frequency energy on the components. This report discusses an investigation of the coupling of microwave radiation to loads terminating cables inside enclosures that have discontinuities.
