Development of Stall Deterrent Device for Small Airplanes.

Abstract

A kinesthetic-tactual display may be effectively used as a control aid, per previous flight tests. Angle-of-attack (AOA) information would be continuously presented to a pilot, via this display, during critical operational phases -- approaches to landing, takeoff and departures, and accelerated maneuvers -- where stalls are probable. He would then have a continuous indication of aerodynamic state, and thus perform the necessary control before a stall condition was reached
