Solid Propellant Combustion Mechanism Research.

Abstract

This annual progress report highlights the progress being made on several continuing combustion mechanism researches. The report summarizes the applications of three recently completed major areas of research: porous propellant combustion, nonsteady burning of AP composite propellants under dynamic pressure conditions, and combustion modeling of AP composite propellants. The following new areas of research (begun in 1974) are summarized: modeling of nitramine mono-propellant flame, deflagration studies of nitrate ester and platonized double base propellants, and a generalized treatment of nonsteady burning of fuels. Abstracts of recent publications are included.
