Abstract

The report examines the Military Sealift Command's Sealift Readiness Program and the effect of a less-than-full-mobilization (contingency) call-up on the competitive position of the U.S. merchant marine. The report contains ton-mile capacity calculations for all U.S. vessels operated by companies participating in the Sealift Readiness Program.
