Computer Optimization of Cochlear Design Parameters.

Abstract

The purpose of the document is to report the results of a rather extensive study of the electrical analog of the human cochlea, conducted by use of digital simulation techniques. The report includes a description of the structure and the equations of the cochlear analog, numerous response curves, and a set of near-optimum parameter values. Some three-dimensional representations of the vibrations of the basilar membrane are also presented.
