Anharmonic Oscillator Lasers.

Abstract

This report describes research from a program which consisted of several separate, but related, investigation. For the purposes of this report the following names have been given to each of the studies: CO gas dynamic expansion vibrational population measurements; theoretical developments in vibrational kinetics of anharmonic molecules; CO waveguide laser development; time dependent solutions of the master kinetic equations; electric discharge stabilization in a supersonic CO/N2 flow; and computations of vibrational pumping rates by electrons including super-elastic collisions. A description of the progress made in each of these areas is given.
