Some Hemodynamic Changes Provoked by Industrial Noise (O Nekotorykh Gemodinamicheskikh Sdvigakh pri Vozdeistvii Proizvodstvennogo Shuma),

Abstract

Under study was the condition of the cardiovascular system in persons exposed to continuous and intermittent industrial noise in the course of the workday. Quite often operators engaged in occupations involving exposure to noise complained of cardiac disorders with their arterial pressure showing some degree of vacillation. Individuals working in conditions of continuous noise demonstrated primarily manifestations of vascular dysfunction. In conditions of intermittent noise throughout the whole of the workday there was a distinct tendency towards hypertension. Considering possible effects of noise on the functional state of the cardiovascular system the author holds that in conditions of high level industrial noise, affections of the organ of hearing, the nervous system, hypertensive disease, vegetative dysfunction, and marked cardiovascular lability occur.
