Remote-Terminal Emulator (Design Verification Model). Volume 6. Real-Time Executive.

Abstract

The Remote-Terminal Emulator is a minicomputer-based system which generates message traffic for use in testing and evaluating large-scale multi-terminal computer systems. This series of reports describes the two Design Verification Models that were developed on Data General NOVA 800 minicomputers. This volume describes the Real-Time Executive - an application (emulator) dependent, multi-tasking monitor designed to free the Scenario Interpreter program from the details of handling I/O devices, buffering responses and commands, task scheduling, dynamic core allocation, and scenario management.
