Interface Message Processors for the ARPA Computer Network

Abstract

The ARPA computer network is a packet-switching store-and-forward communications system designed for use by computers and computer terminals. After a brief overview of various aspects of network operations and network- related developments, network performance is studied in detail including discussion of a number of software changes aimed at performance improvement. Some future network developments are discussed in brief. A final installment on the subject of TIP access control and accounting is included.
