Nylasint Pore System: Reservoir or Sink.

Abstract

Porous nylon blocks are currently used as lubricant replenishment reservoirs in moving mechanical assemblies within communication satellites and other spacecraft that must have long mission lifetimes. This report presents theoretical and experimental evidence that the reservoir function is not fulfilled under isothermal conditions because of capillary effects.
