Adaptive Optimal Input Synthesis for Linear System Identification.

Abstract

Optimal open-loop feedback formulation of the input synthesis problem for parameter estimation in linear dynamic systems is presented. The combination of recursive estimation and synthesis technique features a marked improvement in the behavior of estimates over the open-loop formulation. These methods are also applied in designing probing signals when the discrete a priori distribution of the parameters is known.
