Abstract
Field tests of the stand-alone system (LTS-3S) were successfully carried out for the U.S. Bureau of Mines. Performance tests of the improved audio reader suggest that the present reader design will meet the requirements for the LTS-5 prototype. Work has been initiated on the development of a student data-recording system.
