Digital Avionics Information System Design Option Decision Trees.

Abstract

The DODTs for a DAIS system were developed to determine the decision points in a design process which may be of importance in projecting the input of new technology on human resource parameters. The DODTs for the DAIS system were refined through the process of extensive reevaluation by experts in the field both in industry and the Air Force. They were then used in another phase of the study to actually determine the design choice impact on selected human resource parameters. The DODT technique allows for a rather extensive evaluation of the design choices for the completion of a total system. In addition to the major purpose of the DODTs for this research project, as a tool for assisting in quantifying human resource requirements of various technologies, they may be used for a series of other management actions.
