Further Evaluation of the Solid State Simulator for the A-7B Aircraft Electrical System.

Abstract

This supplement to Technical Report AFAPL TR 72-88 covers the work accomplished after May 1972 in the Air Force Aero Propulsion Laboratory (AFAPL) program for comparative evaluation of conventional and solid state A-7B aircraft electrical system simulators to determine advantages, find and correct deficiencies, and thereby guide research and development which will result in application of solid state technology to AF aircraft, providing significant improvements in weight, reliability, wiring simplification, power quality, and electrical system flexibility. The simulators were procured from LTV Aerospace under Contract AF33615-68-C-1128. The original solid state signal sources and power controllers were developed by Texas Instruments and Leach, respectively, under LTV subcontracts. The original multiplexing system was developed by SCI Systems, Inc. under Navy/VAC Contract N62269-69-C-0329.
