Functional Description and Systems Specifications for an Interactive BALFRAM.

Abstract

This report gives a functional description and systems specifications for an interactive version of the Balanced Force Requirements Analysis Methodology (BALFRAM). BALFRAM, which provides a uniform or balanced approach to military force requirements and capabilities analysis, was developed by SRI/NWRC and is in operational use at the Headquarters of the Commander in Chief Pacific, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces, and the Republic of China's Ministry of National Defense. BALFRAM now runs in batch mode on the World Wide Military Command and Control System (WWMCCS) computer; its effectiveness, and consequently its utility, would be greatly enhanced if an interactive version running in time-shared mode were available.
