Magnetic Probe for Use in Intense Electron Beam Environment.

Abstract

A description is given for a quartz housed, liquid dielectric filled, magnetic probe as it is employed on the NRL 'Triton' experiment. Consideration of plasma-housing and beam-housing interactions including direct beam heating and resulting pressure effects as well as dielectric requirements are discussed.
