Xenon Flash Lamps in High Magnetic Fields.

Abstract

The report presents the results of an experimental and analytical program to determine the characteristics of Xenon flash lamps in high magnetic field environments in laser systems. The radiative and electrical characteristics of Xenon flash lamps were investigated in magnetic fields up to 10 tesla. The magnet and 5 megawatt power supply were capable of producing a peak field of 14 tesla for 0.1 sec.
