Physical Chemical State of Water in Living Cells.

Abstract

The role(s) of water in basic physiological processes is defined. A fundamental understanding of the physical chemical state of water in living cells is established. The inter-relationship between various physiological states and the physical state of water in cellular and subcellular fractions is studied. Particular emphasis is placed on defining the role of water in cellular accumulation and exclusion of ions and other solutes.
