Determination of Fuze Impact Angle in Drop Test from Orthogonal Photographs.

Abstract

A method has been established to determine the angle which the axis of a fuze makes with the horizontal plane in a drop test. This angle is determined from two photographs taken simultaneously which show the projections of the fuze axis on two orthogonal planes. The various geometric orientations and the resulting mathematics are discussed. The case in which the fuze is close to the ground is plotted and a table of values for user applications are presented in detail. (Author)
