High Pressure Quasi-Static Seal Configuration.

Abstract

A sealing configuration has been developed to contain pressures of at least 70,000 psi. The test fixture employed possessed insufficient rigidity to consider the seal solely as static in the conventional high pressure sense. Furthermore, large seal diameters would not appear to lessen the configuration's sealing ability. Immediate application is planned in a 105mm Liquid Layer Gun scheduled for fabrication and testing in 1975. In addition, a patent application for the seal configuration is being filed.
