EMP Instrumentation Shielding and Evaluation.
Abstract
Special purpose hardware was developed to harden recording instrumentation to EMP simulator fields. This included probe shields, instrumentation system shields, and differential voltage attenuators. Calibration and shielding evaluation techniques were also developed. The design criteria for and performance measurements made on a parallel plate tapered transmission line are given. The transmission line was used as a field source to evaluate the applied shields.
