Some Stochastic Characterizations of Multivariate survival,

Abstract

This paper deals with multivariate analogues to the five well developed univariate characterizations of wear. The objective is to explore variations of these five analogues, study their properties and obtain implications between them. A rationale is provided as to how some of the multivariate variations arise by considering a multivariate shock model. This shock model is based on the multivariate exponential distribution of Marshall and Olkin and the theory of univariate shock models and wear processes of Esary, Marshall and Proschan.
