Nonparametric Selection Procedures for Selecting the Regression Equations with Larger Slope.
Abstract
Assume that the equation w = (beta sub 0) + (beta sub 1)t describes the weight of animals that have been fed a new ration for a given time t. The weight w is in grams, and the time t is in weeks. The model will be written y = (beta sub 0) + (beta sub 1)t + e, where (beta sub 0) is the initial weight of an animal and (beta sub 1) is the growth rate. The authors are interested in knowing what kind of ration has the largest growth rate among a set of rations. Applications of these results to animal science, economics and other fields can be made.
