A Little-Known Effect of Antenna Size on Signal Waveform.

Abstract

A review is given of the usual approximate solution of the calculation of the radiation field of an aperture to demonstrate an attribute of the solution which is widely overlooked and which describes a little-understood feature of the radiation field. The report presents a simple theoretical analysis of the phenomena associated with most antennas and shows representative examples of waveform distortion resulting from antenna effects.
