Failure Mechanisms in Composite Systems.

Abstract

The off-axis mechanical properties of boron-aluminum unidirectional laminae were theoretically evaluated by finite-element analysis employing generalized plane-strain with in-plane shear. Analyses were performed with a computer program capable of calculating elastic, plastic, and creep deformations as well as interface stresses induced by either mechanical loading or differential thermal displacements.
