Comparative Seakeeping Characteristics of Two United States Coast Guard Patrol Boats in Regular Waves

Abstract

The seakeeping characteristics of two, United States Coast Guard patrol boats (a 95-foot WPB and a 140-foot WAGB) are compared. The comparison is based on computer, nondimensional, responses in regular waves. On this basis, the seakeeping characteristics of the 95-foot boat are found to be superior to those of the 140-foot boat.
