Mechanical Properties of Glass Fiber Waveguides and Fabrication of Special Waveguide Shapes.

Abstract

Fiber pulling results for silica fibers with both oxi-hydrogen torches and RF suceptor furnaces are reported. Conventional clad fibers and exposed or externally mounted glass fibers have been drawn with conventional kanthol furnances.
