Investigation of Radar Rain Clutter Cancellation Using a Polarization Method

Abstract

The work considers a new polarization method for possible reduction of rain clutter in monostatic radar. Basically, the proposed technique attempts to adjust the effective polarization of the receiver to match the average polarization of backscattered fields to improve the cancellation attainable from systems ordinarily using circular polarization.
