The Design and Flight Test of a 30 kw Rocket-Borne Electron Accelerator Module (EXCEDE II Test) HAES Report Number 22.

Abstract

A 30 kw, 3 kV rocket-borne electron accelerator was designed, fabricated, tested and launched from the Poker Flat Research Range as part of the EXCEDE Program. Additional rocket-borne and ground instrumentation provided diagnostic information to evaluate accelerator performance. The high voltage power supply and electron guns were designed specifically for high power deposition. This engineering test demonstrated the accelerator met its design criterion.
