High Frequency Temperature Fluctuations in the Atmospheric Boundary Layer.

Abstract

Turbulent temperature fluctuations in the atmospheric boundary layer measured at 2m, 7m and 23m in Riso, Denmark, were analyzed with particular emphasis placed on determining characteristics of the high frequency region of the spectra of these fluctuations. The shape of the high wave number one-dimensional temperature spectrum and an estimate of the Kolmogorov scalar constant were determined. Comparisons of high frequency spectral regions of temperature and velocity fluctuations were made.
