The Oscillation of Short Immersed Fluid-Filled Hoses.

Abstract

Longitudinal oscillations in a towed array can be reduced by introducing an alternation of masses and short fluid-filled hoses. The pressure fields inside and outside of the hose are obtained by solving a boundary value problem with mixed boundary condition. An equivalent T section representation of the hose is given which can be used in calculating the filtering action of the iterated structure. (Author)
