AFSATCOM Terminal No. 3 Reliability Improvement Study.

Abstract

A sample of SRU's from AFSATCOM Terminal No. 3 are analyzed from a predicted hardware reliability viewpoint. Top reliability problems are noted and design change recommendations are made to improve the predicted hardware reliability first computed. These improvements are linked to life cycle costs to determine their cost effectiveness. Other reliability problems not directly related to life cycle costs are also discussed.
