First-Order Magnetic Phase Transition in Cr-Si Alloys.

Abstract

Studies have clearly confirmed that there are first-order magnetic transitions in the Cr-Si system. The nature of these transitions is not completely clear at the present time. Neutron diffraction investigations are badly needed for further elucidation of the magnetic phase diagram of Cr-Si system. Further analysis of the X vs T data of Cr-Si alloys from the viewpoint of the extended Fedders and Martin theory is in progress.
