Research to Develop Improved Models of Climatology That Will Assist the Meteorologist in the Timely Operation of the Air Force Weather Detachments,
Abstract
This report considers the devising of climatic presentations for usage in preparing 2- and 4-hour forecasts of low ceilings and restricted visibilities. A hierarchy of empirical relationships for estimating the recurrence probabilities are made possible through the use of statistical modelling and analysis techniques which act to conserve the data base.
