Analytical Theory of Transonic Normal Shock-Boundary Layer Interaction.

Abstract

This paper describes an approximate analytical theory of the nonseparating transonic interaction of a weak normal shock with an isobaric laminar or turbulent boundary layer. The resulting mixed rotation transonic flow boundary value problem is solved analytically by Fourier transformation methods. Numerical results are presented for turbulent boundary layer pressure distributions, flow geometry and skin friction.
