Hydrologic Engineering Methods for Water Resources Development. Volume 3. Hydrologic Frequency Analysis,

Abstract

The report is Volume 3 of the 12 Volume report prepared by the Hydrologic Engineering Center of the US Army Corps of Engineers as a contribution to the International Hydrological Decade. This volume describes the use of probability theory and statistical methods as they apply to hydrologic engineering problems. The volume discusses general probability concepts and definitions, hydrologic frequency curves, graphical and analytical techniques for computing frequency curves, analytical adjustments to hydrologic frequencies, volume-frequency computations, and regional frequency analysis.
