Raster Graphics Image Transformer.

Abstract

This report describes the design, theory of operation, and the results of testing a component of a high performance raster graphics system (image transformer). The purpose of the image transformer is to perform various processing functions on three dimensional point and polygon data. There are two categories of processing: transformation processing and window processing. These two categories include six functions: Transformation processing - (rotation, translation, scaling, concantenation); and Window processing - (backface surface elimination, clipping). In addition design documentation for the image transformer is contained in the Appendix. This includes logic diagrams and microprogram listings.
