Feasibility of a Test of Probability of Hit by Antiaircraft Guns,

Abstract

The findings in this study indicate that it is feasible to conduct tests involving antiaircraft guns engaging maneuvering aircraft to determine the probability of hit of a specified projected area. The essential elements of such a 'Hit Scoring System' are described. It seems prudent to conduct some preliminary tests to demonstrate the inherent accuracy of any scoring system prior to its use in actual tests. Such preliminary tests are described.
