Department of the Army Pesticide Monitoring Program, January - December 1974,

Abstract

Evaluations of the data from environmental samples collected during 1974 are generally not directly comparable with the 1973 data. Partial stratification of the 1974 sampling and specific biases deliberately introduced make such comparisons tenuous. The variety of pesticides and their metabolites and, in a few cases, the concentrations detected are generally not compatible with a carefully operated, conservative pest management program. Current concepts of pesticide distribution in the environment are much more conservative than at the time these pesticides were used. (Author)
