Static-Electricity Analysis Program. Volume I

Abstract

A computer program based on the results of earlier experimental and analytical studies of precipitation static interference was developed to permit the EMP engineer to calculate p-static noise levels on a variety of aircraft under various charging conditions. The experimental and analytical data on which the program is based are presented briefly. The approach and philosophy followed in preparing the computer model are discussed. Comparisons of predicted noise spectra to flight test data from a Boeing 707, an F-4, and a B-47 are given that verify the validity of the computer model. A discussion is presented of the applications and limitations of this first-generation computer model.
